Society of Reconstruction Agriculture |
3. Tokyo University of Agriculture, 6. College of Engineering, Nihon University *The above participating universities, etc. are current as of the time of the Commemorative Symposium for the Establishment of the Society of Reconstruction Agriculture. |
The Society of Reconstruction Agriculture was established in June 2020 to contribute to and speed up the revitalization of agriculture in the Hamadori region of Fukushima Prefecture that was afflicted by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster. Society members are not limited to researchers of universities and research institutions centered on fields related to agriculture, but include an extremely broad spectrum ranging from local residents, farmers, local governments, corporations, and organizations. As the flag bearer of reconstruction agriculture, the Society promotes new academic and inter-disciplinary projects, research and initiatives, and accumulates results and know-how that are then organically applied to regions and their societies with the aim of revitalizing agriculture. |

Bird & Wildlife Damage Prevention Network |
6. College of Engineering, Nihon University (Secretariat), 8. Nagasaki University, 11. Tohoku University, 13. Tokyo University of Agriculture, 16. Fukushima University *6-16 are listed in order of the time of application for the Reconstruction Knowledge project. |
The Bird & Wildlife Damage Prevention Network was established in FY2020 when Professor Ichiro Iwaki of the College of Engineering, Nihon University called for universities to share research on birds and wildlife which were conducted separately in cities, towns and villages of the Hamadori region after the nuclear accident at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The Network holds regular information-sharing meetings and symposiums involving persons related to national, prefectural and corporate bodies, for the purpose of creating effective preventive measures through sharing knowledge, techniques and research results of their areas of expertise. An information-sharing site for one-stop management and analysis of data, such as of the number of captured wildlife, where they were caught and their routes, accumulated by national, prefectural, local municipalities and university bodies, was built in FY2022 and is currently administered by the College of Engineering, Nihon University. |
